Our Testimony
-
Bobby Leger
Bobby was raised in a drug infested and violent family wiith a father who was an alcholic and a mother who had him when she was very young.
He got into a lot of trouble growing up. He was kicked out of 6th grade for dealing and using drugs.
He had a choice of prison or the military. He chose the military. God used the military to clean up his outward appearance.
And he learned he could succeed and accomplish what he put his heart and mind to.
Surviving many missions of combat he is very grateful to be alive.
After coming back from war he returned to drinking and drugs.
One morning when his daughter was 3 years old she came into the room where he was.
She had a beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other and spoke the words he will never forget, "Daddy I want to be just like you."
Bobby swore he would never be like his mother or father. He realized when his daughter said those words that he was heading down the road of becoming just like he said he never wanted to be.
A local church had been bringing his young daughter to and from church for a couple of months.
That morning he got dressed and went to church.
After the service was over and a worship song filled the place, God drew him to the alter.
That is where Bobby was dramatically saved. God told him He would be his mother, his father and his every need; To live from Him and not for Him. He then called Bobby to preach the gospel and to use what he had been through to those who would relate.
To show the same love, mercy and grace He showed him.

Starr Leger
Starr was raised by a single mother.
They traveled all over the South and East coasts starting over each and every time they arrived in a new city.
She enjoyed meeting new friends and being exposed to different cultures within the South and East coasts.
They always managed to come back to Louisiana in between moves.
They finally settled in Sulphur, Louisiana.
Through out her child hood Starr's grandmother Rose would take her to church. Starr was too young to understand the message the preacher was sharing she would get tired and sleep under the pew her grandmother sat on. As she grew older she began to listen more to the sermons. At 9 years old she went to the alter and gave her life to Christ and was filled with the holy spirit. A night she will never forget.
Around 10 years of age Starr's mother met her new husband at the church she received Christ in.
Starr then had a true father. He loved her as his own. He was a great man of God. Starr remembers walking around the house and catching her new dad on his knees in the living room praying and reading the word of God. Seeing that always put a smile in her heart. She knew then when she grew up she wanted a man of God.
Starr did her rebelling once she became an adult.
She was exposed to the life of drugs. She did get through it. All while going through her rebellious state of finding herself, she kept her prayer life and her relationship with God close. She loved the Lord and knew she could not face life without Him.
In 1996 Starr began her life of being a single parent.
Starr began to move around a lot too. But she stayed in Louisiana.
In 2000 she married her daughter's father. During this time God revealed a lot to Starr about life and marriage. She knew and felt in her heart that marriage was a sacred bond between two people that loved each other. So why was her marriage not like that? She continued to pray and seek God for answers all while her family attended church regularly.
In 2008 after many years of praying God released her from that marriage.
Her relationship with God has always been important to her.
Going through a divorce is not easy. But she got through it by God's guidance.
After many unhealthy relationships Starr had enough. She sat down and prayed for a man of God.
She made a very detailed list of what kind of man she wanted.
i.e.:
1. man of God
2. man who seeks God's face
3. man who will adore me and whom I will also adore.
4. man who will accept my kids as his own
5. etc......
She wasn't settling for anything less.
August 16, 2014 she married just that man. The man God created just for her. She married her best friend, Bobby Leger.
Her prayers were answered.
God is good.
